Recruiting to our Technical Team
LEEA is seeking a Technical Engineer to join the Association’s Technical Team. Closing Date for applications is 26th February 2021.
Salary: Competitive based on skills and experience. The role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary technical services team, under the direction of the head of technical services, to:
- Provide technical support and guidance to the LEEA members
- Represent the LEEA membership on the development of product and user codes of practice applicable to lifting equipment, lifting operations and associated work equipment
- Research and develop LEEA technical publications
- Review and maintain as ‘state of the art’ LEEA existing publications
- Prepare for LEEA Member Technical Meetings and contribute to their effectiveness
- The role will involve training alongside LEEA Technical Experts and the Head of Technical Services.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Strong skills and competence in engineering, including knowledge and experience of inherent safe design principles, inspection and test methods
- Knowledge and experience of safe systems of work and procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of machinery supply and use legislation
- Knowledge and understanding of machinery supply and use standards
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, experience of writing clear concise technical documents and the ability to interact productively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Lifting equipment, PPE and load restraint experience is desirable, but not essential. Experience of offshore work environments desirable, but not essential.
A full driving licence that enables you to drive in the UK is essential. However, LEEA is willing to consider any proposals put forward by applicants with disabilities that would allow them to do job by another means.
Qualifications / experience:
Essential: Strong and demonstrable engineering background or closely related science
Desirable: LEEA Diploma, LEG, LMM, LMP or EOTC or lifting equipment qualifications.

- Presentation and technical writing skills.
